About Sewerage and Drainage Services

Metro Vancouver operates a regional system to collect and treat wastewater, which includes:

• 530 km of trunk sewers (larger pipes that connect to municipal sewers)
• 33 pump stations that move sewage through the system
• Five wastewater treatment plants

Note: Your municipality also operates its own system of sewers, pump stations and other infrastructure that feeds into the regional system.
